Job Description

Adelphi is seeking Sterile Processing Service Technicians to provide services at a facility in Aurora, Colorado. The ideal candidates will be responsible for servicing the operating room, dental service department, interventional procedural areas, and other hospital departments as needed.

Requirements:

• Certification in Sterile Processing (CRCST, CIS, or CHL) from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)
• Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
• BLS (AHA)
• Minimum of two (2) years recent SPS technician experience

Responsibilities:

• Appropriately transport contaminated reusable medical equipment (RME) from point of use bio-hazard areas to decontamination area of Sterile Processing Service.
• Perform all functions of the decontamination process including manual and mechanical cleaning of surgical, reusable medical equipment, and dental instrumentation.
• Sort and decontaminate RME based on manufacturer’s instructions and facility standard operating procedures, utilizing correct dosage of chemicals.
• Perform all functions of the prep/packaging and sterilization process including documentation and quality assurance procedures.
• Properly and safely load, operate and trouble shoot a variety of sterilizers.
• Properly transport all items for HLD process before and after processing in accordance with facility protocols.
• Follow facility protocol on OR case cart process and sterile storage area regulations.
• Prepare case carts for the OR and ensuring that everything on the pull sheet is obtained for the next day’s cases.
• Additional duties as assigned by facility.
