Job Summary

We seek a highly organized, enthusiastic, dedicated, and self-driven shipping manager to oversee our company's shipping and receiving operations. You will be processing shipment orders, monitoring the packaging and labeling of completed orders, and evaluating the performance of shipping department employees. You will also ensure that deliveries are received in a timely manner and properly processed for storage or use in production.

To ensure success as a shipping manager, you should have a lot of knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures and demonstrable experience in a similar role. Your shipping expertise should translate into smooth and cost-effective shipping services. This is a hands-on role and is for someone who loves managing people and can foster a positive work environment.

Shipping Manager Responsibilities

• Keeping shipping operations within budget without compromising speed or efficiency.
• Processing shipment documentation and inspecting completed orders.
• Hiring, training, and supervising shipping employees.
• Acting as a liaison between management, carriers, and shipping customers.
• Collaborating with internal departments to optimize the flow of orders from preparation to shipment.
• Creating, implementing, and documenting processes and reporting to management as required.
• Evaluating carrier performance and resolving issues with orders and logistics.
• Complying to shipping industry regulations and company policies.

Shipping Manager Requirements

• At least 1-3 years experience in some aspect of shipping and receiving
• Proficiency in electronic shipping software, such as ShipStation, and an ERP, such as CIN7
• Familiarity with EDI and wholesale procedures
• In-depth knowledge of logistics and shipping documentation
• Budgeting and reporting experience
• Knowledge of shipping industry regulations, including but not limited to customs documentations and hazardous material shipping
• Advanced analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus

Compensation: Salary of $65,000
