Role and Responsibilities
As an Import Product Manager, you will be responsible for handling the company’s import orders for our clients. The successful candidate will understand import production with suppliers/factories/import agents, be able to maximize costs of goods sold and margins, and work with the team to maintain quality standards with suppliers.

Salary Range - $75,000 - $80,000/year

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Programs (Imports):
  • Knowledge of import processes from sourcing to delivery
  • Understand strengths and weaknesses of geographic locations
  • Understand manufacturing processes at the factory level
  • Knowledge of supply chain process
  • Knowledge of overall sourcing and importing from overseas
  • Discover and partner with trustworthy vendors and suppliers
Supplier Management
  • Understands supplier strengths, weaknesses, and product offerings
  • Coordinating with the shipping department to arrange the transportation of goods from suppliers to warehouses or client locations
  • Ensures compliance with all required international laws and licensing regulations
  • Determine quantity and timing of deliveries based on import product timelines
  • Maintain Supplier Contact List and Supplier Shipping Information
  • Oversee all quality control and samples with supplier/factories/import agents
  • Negotiate return allowances with suppliers/factories/import agents so the company is not negatively impacted
Category Management
  • Create client planned continuity programs throughout the year
  • Prepare presentations in PowerPoint for the sales team to present to their clients.
  • Generate and implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies
  • Collaborates with sales team on new continuity programs and passes requirements to importers
  • Understand COGs to ensure highest quality and lowest cost
  • Managing inventory levels by ensuring that products are ordered or produced in time to meet customer demand or seasonality requirements
  • Collaborate with Procurement/Sales/Operations when needed
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • 2-3 Years’ Experience dealing with Imports and/or sourcing products
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Results-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint specifically
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • High level of attention to detail and thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive and can take initiative to get things done
  • High achiever and goal oriented
