The RWP Botanical Center seeks a visionary individual with a creative eye to supervise design and creation of horticultural exhibits focused on ecosystems, climate resilient gardening techniques and sustainability.
• Design Horticultural Exhibits: Work closely with the RWP Botanical Center Director to create gardens that are maintained for aesthetics, eco-garden design, education, and management, with a strong emphasis on environmental stewardship.
• Create schedules: Under guidance of the RWP Botanical Center Director, organize seasonal plant health care plans and other specialized horticultural maintenance needs, as well as plan for the upcoming season.
• Supervise: Work with general foreperson to supervise shared lists and other maintenance schedules for volunteers and upcoming plant exhibits.
• Share knowledge: Share horticultural knowledge regarding exhibits with visitors, staff and volunteers to achieve innovative, educational, and inspiring designs and displays.
• Guided Tours: Conduct guided tours, showcasing the beauty and significance of specialized plant species.
• Answer Queries: Respond to visitor questions using specialized knowledge related to plants, gardening, and conservation and ecosystems.
• Promote Education: Encourage visitors to explore workshops, programs, and resources related to horticulture.
• Assist with Events: Collaborate with the team during special events and workshops.
• Maintain a Positive Atmosphere: Contribute to creating a memorable and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
• Other job duties as requested.
