Job Description **SUMMARY**
The Event Coordinator assists the Event Managers with planning, directing, coordinating, and covering events at Pechanga Arena San Diego. Plan, direct, coordinate and cover VIP Elements, Event Operations and Tenant Events.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
* Assists Event Managers in coordinating all events. Assist in planning and coordinating all phases of the assigned events to include all aspects of the event.
* Act as back-up contact for events. Serve as on-site contact person for tenants during events to handle the event and any unexpected changes, requests, or unusual circumstances that arise.
* Will plan and coordinate all phases of in-house and smaller events.
* Assist with coordinating facility staffing needs with the appropriate departments.
* Contact service personnel to obtain or give information and directions regarding event activities.
* Assist with the preparation or review of accounting paperwork of tenant charges for all games.
* Conduct tours and site visits.
* Ensure building policies, public safety regulations and fire codes are enforced during events.

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
* Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to work under pressure, recognize problems and find solutions.
* Ability to hit deadlines for items such as scheduling, payroll and permitting.
* Ability to multi-task and handle a variety of day-to-day tasks.
* Ability to work well with fellow staff members.
* Ability to work long irregular hours for an extended period of time as dictated by events and schedule. This will include nights, weekends, and holidays.
* Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
* Associate's degree (A. A./A.S.); and two (2) years exposure to stadium, events, or hospitality industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Ability to pay attention to detail.
* Ability to plan and organize.
* Must have the ability to follow oral and written instruction.
* Knowledge of building policies, city codes and fire codes as they pertain to event management.
