Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Route & Fleet Optimization Coordinator to support our logistics and sales operations. This role is ideal for someone with 1-2 years of experience who is eager to learn and grow in distribution, logistics, and fleet management. The coordinator will assist in planning efficient delivery routes, monitoring vehicle loads, optimizing distribution costs, ensuring compliance with weight regulations, and improving operational efficiency. Additionally, they will support sales reps and supervisors in optimizing routes and handle vehicle safety, insurance claims, and fleet tracking.

Key Responsibilities:

Route & Distribution Optimization:

  • Assist in planning and optimizing delivery routes to improve efficiency and reduce fuel and labor costs.
  • Collaborate with sales reps and supervisors to align routes with business growth and customer needs.
  • Monitor key metrics related to route performance and suggest data-driven improvements.

Fleet & Weight Management:

  • Ensure trucks are loaded efficiently while complying with weight regulations to avoid penalties.
  • Track vehicle capacity utilization to optimize load distribution.
  • Work with warehouse and distribution teams to ensure proper loading procedures are followed.
  • Conduct random checks on truck weights before dispatch.

Customer & Territory Management:

  • Assist in onboarding new customers and incorporating them into optimized routes.
  • Ensure strategic route assignments that align with customer proximity and sales opportunities.

Safety, Compliance & Vehicle Management:

  • Maintain an inventory of trucks, ensuring they meet safety and operational standards.
  • Assist in accident management, including reporting, claim handling, and coordinating with insurance providers.
  • Oversee vehicle insurance policies, ensuring proper coverage and claims processing.
  • Work with the maintenance team to track vehicle conditions, service schedules, and repairs.

Operational Efficiency & Reporting:

  • Analyze distribution costs, fuel consumption, and route efficiency, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Use SAP and other logistics tools for tracking vehicle performance, fleet data, and route planning.
  • Prepare reports on fleet utilization, route efficiency, and safety metrics for management review.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 1-2 years of experience in logistics, distribution, or sales operations.
  • Understanding of route planning, fleet operations, and weight regulations (experience in the industry is a plus).
  • Basic knowledge of sales and distribution processes.
  • Bilingual (Spanish & English) required.
  • Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a willingness to learn quickly.
  • Ability to travel as needed for route assessments and logistics coordination.
